Funnily enough, at the multicultural Christmas I mentioned, I met another 4AD buff, who kindly promised to lend me a bunch of CDs. I'll probably pass on the Current 93 stuff, though - I'm too old for Industrial Thelema.
I knew This Mortal Coil was slung together somehow but didn't know the details. I would love to be in that kind of position - decide on a bunch of songs I liked, and invite the musicians I liked to cover them. If I could get Elizabeth Frazer, Robert Fripp, Tony Levin and Nana Vasconcelos to do "Stairway to Heaven", I reckon even fauxpas would listen to it.
