To my surprise and pleasure, our local supermarket has started stocking genuine Czech Budweiser.

Uncharacteristically, I'm rather enjoying lager-type beers at the moment, which is just as well, given that you can't get bitter in Turkey - the closest thing they have is Efes Dark, which is a kind of brown ale. Note that they use an English word to make it sound foreign and exotic. Speaking of which, on my way to buy beer I noticed an advert for a dry-cleaning shop called "DRY Mycope". OK, I get "DRY", but "Mycope"? It sounds like some kind of protozoa.

Haha, Mycope!

One of my favorite names for a business here is Piranha, the money exchange station.

Funny thing I don't even know what "lager-type beer" means. It's been a long time since I actually tasted beer. Not my taste, I could tell immediately. ;-)

Lager is the pale yellow fizzy stuff. It's what most of the world outside the UK and Ireland regard as beer.
