After a lethargic Saturday, I decided to adopt the Aristotelean view that happiness comes from exercising virtue and
  1. did some t'ai chi, a few kicking drills and a lot of stretching;
  2. vacuumed, dusted and tidied;
  3. read student essays
  4. edited a paper I'm thinking of sending to Metaphilosophy (one of the coolest philosophy journals around, if you're into that kind of thing);
  5. learnt XHTML (see previous post);
  6. cooked Chinese foodfor my in-laws (who didn't turn up in the end, but what the hell, I now have enough stir-fry to last me three days);
  7. drank fruit-juice mixes I juiced myself, rather than my normal rakı or beer.

I shall now go and sleep the sleep of the just.

A long and wild story. I taught at Ataturk University. Can't say that it was a great job, and it was in many ways a very rough area, but I managed to have many adventures.

Did you know Pierre Flener by any chance? I don't know how long you have taught at Bilkent, so he might have been before your time. He taught there for about five years.

I remember a Pierre a few years back, but I don't remember his last name. Computer scientist - nice guy. I bought his stereo when he left.
