Not only is my website now free of adverts (except I few I put in when they had a clickthrough policy rather than compulsory banner ads) but it even has its own domain name: www.sensiblemarks.net

If I got my maths right, that makes it 1685, the year when Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann were born. That's still the music I'm most at home with (I was an "early music" specialist when I was an undergrad). I still listen to a lot of stuff coming out now, of course - just so long as it isn't Avril Lavigne or Eminem. What rarely happens now, though, is getting really excited about some new band in the way I did when Dark Side of the Moon came out, I first heard Patti Smith or Peter Gabriel IV blew my mind.

Patti Smith, you mean the one originally from the group Scandal? ('Goodbye to You') Or some other Patti Smith? Yes, I remember Pink Floyd very clearly! And Led Zeppelin, and of course The Beatles. I also fell in love with that one song from Somewhere in Time (not the one by John Barry). I like some of the more recent artists too. Some of them. Actually, have you ever heard of Heitor Villa-Lobos? He's a little more contemporary in the classical genre ('A Lenda do Coboclo'). :)
