The Diffidence Principle

robinturnerI have finally got my act together and written another essay for my main website. Actually, I didn't write an essay from scratch, but repeated the trick I did with Adam and Eve: a thought experiment; i.e., lifted something out of a longer paper because it didn't really fit. It's called The Diffidence Principle as a kind of whimsical reference to Hobbes and Rawls. You can get the PDF verison here and a rather ugly HTML version here (I couldn't be bothered to mess around with HTML/CSS, so just used latex2html to convert it).
