To-do lists
Friday, December 13th, 2002 10:14 pmI frequently make mental to-do lists. Occasionally, when I'm feeling unusually organised, I even write them down. They fall into two categories: things I'd like to do to develop my potential (improve my Perl, Lojban, martial arts skills etc.) and things I need to do otherwise I'm in trouble (grade papers, get my tax number, clean the house etc.). However, I think it's time I had a frivolous to-do list. As Horace said: "Mix a little foolishness with your serious plans; it's lovely to be silly at the right moment." So here's my frivolous to-do list:
- Learn the chorus of the Ketchup song
- Do a handspring
- Learn the samba
- Make flapjacks
- Play Alice
- Write more silly LJ entries
The handspring part might be tricky, though.

Date: 2002-12-13 07:33 pm (UTC)I decided to sell off all of my video games and quit cold turkey. Yeah right. The decision was made but my actions haven't followed just yet.

Date: 2002-12-14 03:21 am (UTC)I actually spend very little time gaming - rebooting into Windows isn't worth it unless I'm going to have a long session with no distractions, which is a rare event (and trying to get games to work with Wine is an even less profitable use of my time). Once in a while, usually during a holiday, I have a binge and get totally into a game - the last time was when I got hold of Max Payne.

Date: 2002-12-15 02:40 pm (UTC)I think the art direction in that game is simply superb...the artists have done a really good job.
The company that made Alice (I can't remember the name now) is going to be one of the very first I'll send my CV.
But the one I want to work at actually is the company that made Syberia and Post-Mortem, Microids ? Gosh, I can't remember anything anymore...
anyway, I'm really glad that you liked Alice, too :)
