Atlantis City

I have already commented on some ironic uses of mythology here in Turkey, such as the Medea Family Counselling Clinic. (It's just up from the stop where I get off the bus in Ankara, opposite the Hera Women's Health Centre - really!) The latest is a new luxury housing development called Atlantis City. Not Atlantic City, AtlantiS. No wonder they're building it in Ankara, which is about as far from the sea as you can get.

I've seen it on the Internet as a joke; what cracked me up was that it was real and staring me in the face.

Why why why?

The one that always gets me in Belgrade is the Piranha Money Exchange. But Medea Family Counseling takes the cake. My problem is that I get angry at that sort of thing. Maybe I should start writing letters to those places just to get my feelings off my chest, instead of keeping it all bottled up inside.
