I think am getting shallow. Nerdy shallow, but shallow all the same. Following on from my "I love Dexter" post, here is the latest object of my desire:

Yes, that is a DVD boxed set of various Dalek episodes with Doctors William Hartnell, Tom Baker and Colin Baker (no Patrick Troughton or Jon Pertwee though, which is a hell of an omission). But the really groovy thing? Embossed rubber Dalek bumps!

[livejournal.com profile] hfx_ben recently accused me of having swallowed the blue pill and opted into consumer society. I guess he's right, but come on, embossed rubber Dalek bumps! Forget Cypher, even Morpheus would have chosen to be re-inserted into the Matrix if Agent Smith had offered him a special collectors' edition Dalek DVD boxed set with embossed rubber Dalek bumps.

You aren't turning into T-Rex, are you? You are beginning to sound like him, even though it is objectively awesome.

But how do you know what Dalek bumps feel like? Maybe this is just what they want you to THINK they feel like.

I wouldn't know, but we could always ask Katy Manning. I think she knows.

Woah. I mean. WOAH!

It's I think a mark that my entire original Doc Who experience predates the internet (and much of it my adolescence) that I had no idea that photo existed.

It is somewhat startling.

It gets worse: I've just seen all the Jon Pertwee episodes on bittorrent. Legal and ethical issues aside (and who really cares about those?) there is the practical problem that I would have to get a new hard drive to fit the file on. Oh yes, and there's the fact by the time I'd downloaded half of it, I'd probably need a new CPU as well.
