Am I pregnant?

All today I've been getting this craving for pickled peppers. These are very small but very lethal peppers, a bit like jalapeno peppers, but if anything even more macho - these are Kurdish "this'll put hairs on the back of your hands" peppers. Of course I've indulged, which means I have a burning bottom. But I can't stop! Old hippies here will remember Arthur Brown: "I give you fire!"

I always LOVED the street-food offered by the turks, and once when we were in Selçuk, visiting Ephesus, I bought a kebab-thingie and the guy put some small green pepper things on top. As I walked back to the bar to continue a game of tavla with my travelling companion I crunched into one. It figured about force 6 on the Richter scale. I decided to play a game with my pal. Returning to the game I nonchalantly crunched one and remarked in passing that my friend might like those, without looking up, chewing calmly. He concentrated on the board and reached across, took one, and crunched it. I waited; There was a shudder, a sharp exhalation of breath, he downed his PINT of Efes Pilsner in one go, and without looking up he quietly said "cunt".
