The Rogue Spell-Checker Strikes Again

Spelling checkers are fine things, not least because of the light relief they provide us while reading student papers. I may have commented years ago on those great books of philosophy, Plateau's Republic and Leviathan by Hobbies. Now I have learned, from an essay on moral panic, that in the 1930s, Germans had a fear that their country was being destroyed by the Juice.

Yesterday I read a 7th grader's paragraph on a scene from a novel about a farming family and the earth indicating that such a "setting" would be very difficult to find today but maybe quite common back in the 1900s.
