Today, I went to buy bread, beer, and paper for my printer. I didn't mind paying for the bread or the beer, but somehow it irritates me to have to pay for paper. I guess deep down, I feel that paper should be free, like air or software.
For a long time it was a bone of contention in the UK that razor blades were exempted from VAT but sanitary towels and tampons weren't. I don't know if they ever sorted it out.
