I mentioned earlier that I've been playing around with Moodle, an open source program for designing websites for courses. I just noticed that their logo is very obviously designed using the GIMP. Birds of a free feather ...

That reminds me, I have only 48 hours to get my workshop on Free Software together. It's going to be hard fitting everything in, as I want to cover OpenOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird, the GIMP, LyX, Moodle and a couple of things I wrote myself.

You should compare moodle to blackboard which is totally inferior to what moodle looked like...and don't forget your firefox extensions!

you might also be interested in SchoolTool and their academic calendaring software SchoolBell. Depends on whether your audience is students, other teachers or administrators --- SchoolBell is probably most interesting to the open-minded administrators.
