Man, am I pissed off! I spend a couple of hours trying to compile the source code from Transgaming Wine so I can run a greater selection of Windows programs under Linux. I compile it, it wants this header. I compile it, it wants that header. I install a whole load of C libraries I will never want for anything else, and eventually it compiles and installs. Whoopeedoo. Now I try to run a Windows game with it and it chokes while trying to read my keyboard. So I've got a weird Turkish keyboard - what the hell does it matter? No previous version of Wine has hung on this - they just say words to the effect of "Well, this is a pretty weird keyboard, why don't you send us the layout" and carry on.
And another thing - why do all versions of Wine insist on tut-tutting my TTF fonts every time they load. OK, so it might be a weird font that you can't make sense of. So remember that the next time and don't make me wait while you reinvent the wheel.

My computer keeps choking on ITSELF. My next computer is so going to be a Linux computer. I'm going to join your legion of bitter elitists. ;)

Sorry, that should have been "Goodness me, I am a little miffed."

Date: 2002-02-26 02:30 pm (UTC)Practically a non-sequitur: When I was in a band, one of the 14-year-old members wrote a song that went, in part, "Fuck, that makes me really pissed!" I made him change it to "Drat, that makes me really miffed!" I thought that sounded really funny.
