I wish there was a way to tell the world that I do not want to download Macromedia Shockwave. It seems now that every site I visit related to cinema, TV etc. produces an irritating popup window inviting me to download it (or some other piece of bloatware). The worst culprit was "A List Celebrities" which in addition to asking me to download said program on every conceivable occasion, produced so many bits of Java-based garbage that my computer froze. Linux users will know how rare it is that you need to reboot (normally only when installing a new kernle or crucial bit of hardware) - this time I had to hit the restart button!

OK, I realise the web is becoming more of a multi-media experience as time goes by, but I wish webmasters would tak einto account those of us who don't want all the bells and whistles. Believe it or not, some of us don't want an "experience", we want information.

One thing I have found is that disabling Javascript reduces annoyances. Don't know what to do about your JPG files, though.
