I've just heard on the BBC that Islamic fundamentalist parties in Pakistan have made major electoral gains by capitalising on anti-US sentiment.

In the unlikely instance that there are any gung-ho, bomb Iraq, American "patriots" reading this ...

I can't believe this - the BBC World News started it's normal roundup of Christmas festivities by featuring a pagan Yule celebration. OK, I tend to diss neo-pagans as sentimental New Age wusses with about as much critical intelligence as an amoeba, but I do like them in a funny kind of way, and it's nice to see their religion acknowledged. After all, believing in a bunch of sanitised, politically correct pagan deities is no more irrational than the belief that some guy got killed and came back to life three days later, wandered around for a while then flew up to heaven.
