Criticism/Self-criticism
Friday, December 21st, 2001 02:54 pmBack at work after a sybaritic Eid al-Fitr spent soaking in hot springs. I got rid of all my bruises and strained muscles, only to get a load of new ones doing hapkido. Philip has decided we need more traditional training methods, like banging our shins together. Ow.
In my Chinese Thought class we've got on to Maoism. To give the students some of the atmosphere, I did a Criticism/Self-criticism session where we had to confess our crimes and receive correction from our comrades. My crime was spending so long playing Quake that I didn't finish marking quizzes until 2 a.m., by which time I was sufficiently tired to make a mistake in one of the totals. The class set me a penance of making a weekly timetable to improve my time management. I did this pretty easily (thanks to KOrganizer) and included all the really important, high-priority stuff, like when Buffy the Vampire Slayer is on. I can see I have a way to go before I can root out my petit-bourgeois deviationism!
