Now I'm all curious to find a picture of Prof. Pinker.

I'm totally going postal.

Pinker's one of those people you want to ask, "So, how's life at the top of the gene pool?"

Thanks!

*I* don't think he's all that! Then again, I think Robin just has a thing for hunky men with big hair. He swoons over David Chalmers, too.

So? If Bill Clinton has a thing for big hair (as Michael Moore pointed out) why can't I.

There again, it could be the voice of my inner Nietzschean, who is enthralled by the "blonde beast". Or maybe my alter-ego Terri is taking over (but I suppose she'd think Pinker was terribly old).

Hey, I wasn't judging, just pointing out something that was apparent!

It's your alter ego combining with your main ego!

FYI Solri, I am sooo not into Steven Pinker. Sure he's old - I mean he even has GRAY HAIRS ferchrissake - but that's not the point. Old people should look their age, like Giles in BtVS, not grow their hair long and act like they understand music and snowboarding and stuff. It's like that icky Mick Jaeger - he thinks that just coz he played in some band back in the Cold War, he knows about rock music - he should listen to Avril Lavigne.

Help, I'm surrounded by Voodooists. I suspect that many of them are also suffering from Rigor Mortis. It's a truly terrifying combination.

These are gems. I can see myself using them often.

hopperist: employees of the US government (and certain intl orgs) who work in virginia who believe that the middle class is the source of all revolutions and should be controlled through supplyside economics and the odd 'intervention' in the domestic policies of a sovereign state.

not really even close to philosophical, but...

Solri rulez. As always.
And yes, I'm totally going postal, too, but it won't prevent me from claiming that some of the earlier modern philosophers looked much more attractive than the honourable Mr Pinker. The top of the gene pool? OMG Isn't he a bit fat? Looks chubby. Definitely not my type. ;-)

Wow, I get to rule? And with a "z" too!

OMG Isn't he a bit fat? Looks chubby.
That's what tenure does to you. I'm on a yearly contract - keeps me lean and mean.
