As I posted earlier, as a spectator sport, volleyball has a number of advantages over its more popular rivals. In brief:
  1. Unlike football, someone scores every minute.
  2. Unlike basketball, there isn't a foul every minute.
  3. Unlike both of them, the duration of the match is determined by points scored, not minutes elapsed, so you never have to watch a match where the winning side is just farting around waiting for the final whistle.
  4. Hot chicks.
So naturally, I'm following Turkey's progress in the current World Cup, and considering this is the first time they've competed in this event, they aren't doing too badly, beating reigning champions Cuba and losing to China by fewer points than anyone else so far (Brazil is the only other team to even win one set against China). And the poor women are doing this with only six Turkish supporters in the stadium!

You just wanna see some Gabrielle Reece-type dive and land on her belly in those little short-shorts. :)

Is the tournament over, or just for the Turkey teams?

The tight shorts certainly add to the sporting interest, and so does the gorgeous Neslihan Demir.

The tournament is still in its early stages, and Turkey are still in the running.
