Who is Sophia?

Today on my Matrix course we got stuck into the first major text, Wake Up: Gnosticism and Buddhism in The Matrix. It took a while to explain the wacky Gnostic cosmology, and I was left with the question: if the mad demiurge Yaldabaoth is the Architect, who is Sophia? (I have a theory.)

And when you figure it out, let me know. None of my friend want to talk about the Matrix anymore, as they burned it out when the first one came out. And I only just saw them this summer, so it is all still exciting. (=

I hate the matrix, but I'm gonna read it.

[Why do I hate it ? The reason lies somewhere between Keanu Reeves' doe-eyed cupitidy and Larry Fishburn's smugness. In fact, the whole thing is unbearably smug. It's literature for the non-book-reading generation, so not to be completely condemned, I suppose.]
