I watched the volleyball match between Turkey and Slovakia tonight. Volleyball is definitely more fun to watch than football because (a) you get a goal every thirty seconds and (b) it's played by hot chicks. What more could a guy ask for?

How funny - I was thinking the other day about a satire on that scene in Conan where he's sitting by the fireplace and says something like "The best things in life are to drive your enemies before you, hear the lamentations of the women, and something else..."

I was coming up with "The best things in life are women vollyball teams, women speed skaters, and women powerlifters". You sense a trend...?

Co-incidentaly I was talking to a friend about that same scene the other day. You know it's a quotation from Ghengiz Khan, don't you?

I'd heard that, but always wondered about how true that was.

I read it somewhere else (an English textbook) as a Ghengiz Khan quotation, so it's probably genuine. But it sounds much better with that Austrian accent.

Uhhhh -- hot chicks playing volleyball in bikinis?? ...all while someone brings you martinis and gives a full-body massage?

Heh. :Þ I dunno!

Yeah, I could handle that, though I've never been a great bikini fan.

If I ever win the lottery (unlikely given that I don't normally buy lottery tickets) I shall probably continue to live a fairly simple existence, maybe esconsed in a cottage in the hills writing books on philosophy, but once in a while I would just have to do that film villain thing, lying in my private Turkish bath sipping cocktails and being massaged by beautiful women, with the occasion break to shout at one of my underlings.

Oh, you like to use your imagination? :)

Hmmm. Maybe you could live that dream already, at least for a weekend. Rent a nice cottage with a Turkish bath, bring your beautiful wife, mix up cocktails, and if you don't have children of your own, maybe Rent-A-Kid to have someone to yell at.

...Okay, maybe not. ;)

That scenario doesn't really fit the rich villain image, though. I want decadence!

Oh. Several women, crystal, Turkish cotton robes and caviar?? ;)

Now we're getting somewhere!

And your own private musicians and exquisite imported massage oil and someone to fan you with a giant ostrich feather. :)

That'll do nicely. Maybe a few larks' tongues in aspic to nibble on as well.
