Sometimes life is good

After a day spent discussing the problems of various members of my family, I find myself alone in the house (Nalan having gone to visit her parents). I pour myself a beer and switch on the TV, to find a performance of Monteverdi's Vespers, possibly the greatest piece of music ever written (after going to a performance with my brother, he remarked "You keep thinking it can't get any better, and then it does"). Beer and Monteverdi - who could ask for more?
