Continuing today's martial arts mood, I checked out the website of the Zhong Ding association, a school originally founded by one of my t'ai chi friends back in the UK, Nigel Sutton (when I was teaching the course at Leeds University, we'd get him to come up and do workshops occasionally. There I came upon this course: a whole year's full-time training in t'ai chi and related arts. It's reasonably priced (650 pounds for the course plus 3 pounds per night for accommodation, meaning I could do the whole year for under 2,000 pounds) and it's in Penang. Too late for this year, but if they run it in future years, maybe the university will give me a leave of absence. Think I'll drop Nigel an email ...

Well, I suppose you could make it even more British by changing it to Nigel Sutton-Smythe. He doesn't look very British, or very like a t'ai chi master, though. More like someone you'd see behind the desk in a sherrif's office in Texas.
