We just had a power cut. Nothing unusual there, we get momentary blackouts all the time (thank God for journalling filesystems). This one lasted over an hour, though, which was actually good, as it made me unplug myself and read something that was actually printed on paper (appropriately it was an essay claiming that the Matrix is the technological prison we have trapped ourselves in here and now). I then went outside to do some much-needed martial arts training (mainly sword practice) while the light lasted.

By the time I got back, the power had come on again. I think I'll take advantage of the electric light to do some cooking before the power goes off again. Cooking by candlelight can be romantic, but it can also result in missing fingers.
