Too damned hot

My armpits stink, but I can't be bothered to do anything about it, as I'm alone in the house, and one shower per day is enough. What kind of weather is it when you have a shower, and a few hours later, youre already nasty-stinky-sweaty?

I hate Ankara summers in general, but this one is turning out to be ridiculously hot - yesterday it was hotter here than in Mersin (city on the south coast and well-known frying-pan). I suspect that one reason my normal nocturnal tendencies have been exaggerated (bedtime is now 4 a.m.) is that the temperature only comes down to an acceptable level after midnight.

The other problem is that if I venture outside, I might lose my Gothic pallor. If I could choose my skin colour, I'd probably be a dark olive, but I don't like that healthy, tanned, clean-living California Aryan look.

shower time-or air conditioner time

armpits stinking-as yes, the smell comes from the college next door to me :0 no one shaves, the chicks love to dance nude in the sun.
4am bedtime is a wee bit late, I bet this leads to strange dreams.

As usual you're a man after my own heart.

But it's a dry heat!

Here in Chicagoland (World's Sweatiest Amusement Park!), I've become accustomed to taking two showers a day in the summer when I can. The bad thing is to take a shower, drink a cup of coffee (I need my first caffeine of the day to be hot), and then sweat so much from the coffee that I feel like I need another shower.

TEXAS weather. At least once when I was in Texas it was 100 degrees and 100% humidity. No A/C, lukewarm shower, no cold water to drink... just plain f***ing miserable. Vegas can be hot too but it's usually much drier.

*L* I've often wanted golden brown [darker] skin too. I think I ruined parts of my skin with too many sunburns. (Tans these days are usually of the orangish tanning cream variety; it's gross.) California Aryan?? What is that? I think the majority of people in California are of either African or Hispanic descent. A light-eyed blond person is pretty rare these days!

I was thinking of the hyper-real California, full of lean, blond, bronzed young people. I've never been to the physical USA (and if I did go, it would probably be to New Orleans, to listen to good music, eat good food and soak up that Southern Gothic atmosphere).

You're thinking of Advertised California -- what you see in commercials, etc. That's maybe 10% of the southern California population, for the most part.

New Orleans is fun, but geez, is it dirty! I was there in '84. Definitely good food, the best strawberry daquiris (sp?) anywhere, but get one inch out of the main town areas and it's a total ghetto. Nothing like the Anne Rice novels, so if you're basing your interest on that, then don't bother.
