Things that may yet stop the war

1. People find out that George Bush's real middle name is not "W" but "Damien"
2. Frodo manages to throw the ring into Mount Doom.
3. Christ returns to the world to do battle with George Bush and/or Saddam Hussein
4. We are visited by benevolent aliens
5. As in the past, we are hit by a giant meteor, causing a wave of extinctions which will make the whole thing irrelevant.
