robinturnerOooh, I fell on my head doing hapkido today!
We were working out a demonstration to give to some schoolkids, which meant Phil, my teacher, wanted nice big throws. Normally I'm OK with big throws -- if you know how to fall, it's often easier than just getting slammed down on the mat. With this one, though, I misunderstood the throw, which was a kind of fireman's carry. I was supposed to kind of slide off Phil's back and go into a roll, but I thought I had to go over his shoulders. This resulted in me flying through the air and landing on my head. Ow.
The funny thing is that I immediately started babbling about how I'd seen this whole thing in a dream a couple of weeks ago. Now I doubt very much if I did, but I was totally convinced, to the extent that after a bit of Korean massage and the usual "How many fingers am I holding up?" routine, I kept saying, "Yeah, I saw this in the dream too".
Maybe I should start keeping a dream diary again. I mean, if I'd actually had it in writing that Phil had thrown me on my head, then done techniques X,Y and Z ... Wooo.
