It's nearly morning again, and I'm sitting up drinking weird green stuff. There is this peculiar Turkish custom that at the end of Ramadan, you not only buy sweets to give to visitors (I think this is true throughout the Muslim world) you also buy liqueurs (did I spell that right?) for the same purpose. The funny thing is that no one drinks them the rest of the year, so you are likely to be served a nicely-aged liqueur that has done the rounds of several religious holidays.

In our case, no one touched the local mint liqueur, since we also had a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream left over from our last foray abroad, so I'm sipping it now, feeling like I'm in a Star Trek episode. I mean, this stuff is really green. It reminds me of happy days playing the Star Trek RPG - we had this custom that everyone brought along the most unnatural-looking crispy snacks we could find, and drank brightly-coloured drinks, like Tizer or Blue Curacao.
