Third ain't bad
Saturday, June 29th, 2002 06:03 pmI couldn't muster as much excitement for today's match as I did for the Senegal and Brazil games (in fact normally I find it pretty hard to get excited about a football match, but internationals are different). Even so, it was a great game - I would have been disappointed if turkey had lost, but I would still have been pleased for Korea. It was nice to see such a gentlemanly game and such polite, friendly supporters - nothing like football back home (though my father said this was what most matches were like when he was young). Apparently the Turkish goverment has officially dubbed Korea and Japan "brother nations", whatever that means.
