Cyclic Universe

Now the cyclic universe theory is back in fashion, I'm wondering if that means that when the universe starts to contract, entropy will reverse, and consequently time will start running backwards. Hannibal Lecter thinks so, though he admits he's not in the same league as Hawking (who espoused the cyclical universe theory for a while, then admitted he was wrong, and is probably now thinking he might have been right all along - that's a real scientist for you).

The problem I have with the good doctor's theory is that he imagines his sister, who was eaten, becoming whole again. Now I can just about handle time running backwards, but why should it run backwards in the same way?

I've always been partial to the cyclical universe theory.
It just makes sense, since everything on a smaller level is cyclical.

But I don't think when they talk about "time running backwards" - I don't think they mean it in the way that the Italian Ice I just ate will travel back up my esophagus(sp?) and back into the paper cup it came in, and I'll drive backwards back to return it...

I think it's just a tad more complicated than that... or, incredibly more simple than that - depending on how you look at it.

But I can't think anymore about this tonight... because it's leading to complex thought considering the nature of death & related subjects, and I don't think that's a really good topic for me to be thinking about right now.
haha.
