Yes, it's that film meme. Try to guess the films these lines are from, and no googling. [livejournal.com profile] dtlw and [livejournal.com profile] rodneyorpheus ought to get 1, 2, 5, and 15 in microseconds.

  1. "Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
  2. Aliens [livejournal.com profile] cassielsander
  3. "I feel kind of ... invincible."
  4. Big Trouble in Little China [livejournal.com profile] dtlw
  5. "And the baby can spit radioactive fire too!"

  6. "I know these people, Baby. They are rich, and they are mean."
  7. Dirty Dancing [livejournal.com profile] blorky and [livejournal.com profile] asterisk_here
  8. "I heard you were dead." "I am."
  9. Escape From New York [livejournal.com profile] blorky and [livejournal.com profile] jupitah
  10. "It's infallible. I can always tell a thorough-going bastard when I see one."
  11. The Eagle has Landed [livejournal.com profile] rodneyorpheus
  12. "How come I fail woman studies? I love bitches!"

  13. "Ma Rolex!"

  14. "He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways."
  15. Monty Python and the Holy Grail [livejournal.com profile] from_ashes
  16. "Somehow the colours of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on screen."
  17. A Clockwork Orange [livejournal.com profile] evan
  18. "How about a nice game of chess?"
  19. War Games [livejournal.com profile] cassielsander
  20. "What have the Romans ever done for us?"
  21. The Life of Brian [livejournal.com profile] cassielsander
  22. "Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax off."
  23. The Karate Kid [livejournal.com profile] from_ashes
  24. "They take it away, bring it back, take it away, bring it back!"

  25. "Hey, it's a kind of magic."
  26. Highlander [livejournal.com profile] cassielsander

The only ones I recognize are Nos. 9 and 13 (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Karate Kid), but they weren't even obscure!

Out of curiosity, I googled on 3, but the only page that came up was a guide to Mozilla I wrote years ago. That should give you a clue.

Is #5 from the Johnny Depp movie, Dead Man? Huh, not a very inspired guess, given the line!

;o)

I think I only saw "The Life of Brian" once or twice. I just didn't get into it like I got into "Holy Grail," the latter of which actually saw me doing horribly geeky things like memorizing full scenes of dialogue, etc.

Something with Godzuki in it, then? The only title I can think of is the all-time classic: Operation Destroy All Monsters.

#5 is from "Escape from New York".
4- "Dirty Dancing" - wouldn't have gotten it w/o the "Baby".
I know 7, but can't place the movie - I've seen it in the last 90 days.

#4, Dirty Dancing. Also featuring the extremely well known: "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"

Yep. "We thought you were ... dead" used to be a catchphrase in our RPG group back in Leeds. Somehow the gamesmaster always managed to have a Snake Plisskin character turn up.

Nobody got number 2 yet????

Perhaps number 7 is from a Kevin Smith movie?

How about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?

It's got to have enough academic consciousness to know what women's studies is and also to have a character dumb enough to say number 7.

Your close, but it's not Kevin Smith.
