I started watching Fear Dot Com and gave up in irritation.

A website that manages to cause people to have hallucinations so frightening that they die of fear is a not-too-unbelievable idea for a plot. What strains credulity way past breaking point is that a team of highly-trained investigators should one by one enter the site. For sheer stupidity this beats the classic horror film scene: "What's that noise?" "Oh, it's probably just the wind ... I'll take a look outside anyway." Didn't anyone think to look up the site's IP number? Or perhaps, rather than plunge into the full cheesy S/M multimedia experience, to run wget -r --cookies=off feardotcom.com?
