I'm too tired to continue grading papers or write anything substantial, so I'll do one of these Q/A things that proliferate in the blogosphere.

LAST LONG CAR RIDE: a very long time ago, thank God
LAST KISS: about half an hour ago, but it was a chaste goodnight kiss
LAST GOOD CRY: there is no such thing as a good cry
LAST MOVIE SEEN: in the cinema, The Last Samurai, on TV, can't remember, on DVD, Kiss of the Dragon.
LAST LIBRARY BOOK CHECKED OUT: Gore Vidal: Kalki.
LAST BEVERAGE DRANK: beer.
LAST FOOD CONSUMED: baklava (not at the same time as the beer).
LAST CRUSH: Faith. I recently saw the shower scene.
LAST PHONE CALL: Something technical, probably.
LAST TV SHOW WATCHED: Angel (see LAST CRUSH)
LAST TIME SHOWERED: Last night, and my hair gel is already starting to make me feel itchy.
LAST SHOES WORN: a pair of my late father's trainers. It still makes me feel a little weird.
LAST CD PLAYED: Vivaldi concertos
LAST ITEM BOUGHT: beer, yoghurt, milk, vegetables. Last major item bought, amplifier and speakers.
LAST ANNOYANCE: unexpected visit by relatives when I had a load of papers to grade.
LAST ICE CREAM EATEN: don't remember.
LAST TIME WANTING TO DIE: decades ago. Wanting the rest of the universe to die, well that's another story.
LAST TIME SCOLDED: earlier this evening when I moaned about being visited by relatives.
LAST WEBSITE VISITED: a forum I set up for my course.

I have an ambivalent attitude toword crying. Occasionally, tears offer solace. Generally, they rate with my experience of eating sheep's intestines.

It didn't make me cry, but I spent about a week on the toilet and lost five kilos.

I didn't know what they were. Actually, they taste quite good, but unless they are cleaned very thoroughly (which they rarely are) you are literally eating shit.
