People say I'm too skeptical, but I have my doubts about that.

BBC Click: "Certainly programme makers know this, even if they don't know the word dopamine." Come on, is there anyone working in media who doesn't know the word dopamine?

The Art of Folding

If you go into YouTube and type "how to fold", you can learn amazing things. I was prompted to do this because I had promised to clean the house, and before I could start on that, I had to put away the dry washing that was still hanging on the clothes horse, ready to obstruct any attempts at mopping the floor. Leering up at me was a fitted sheet, daring me to try to fold it up and put it away. However, I was aware that fitted sheets are the folding equivalent of a flying double spin kick, so I decided to start with something more modest (and thus put off mopping the floor for a bit longer). The upshot is that I now know how to roll my socks and underpants into little balls that do not come unrolled (and would probably make great pet toys if I had any pets). I have also mastered the famous Japanese origami shirt-folding technique, though I am not sure if I prefer it to rolling. And yes I even made some progress on fitted sheets, though the result was still rather lumpy. If I never attain shibumi in folding fitted sheets, I can live with that, but I am amazed that I used socks and underpants for fifty years without ever learning how to put them away properly.
