Resident Evil: Afterglow
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010 11:18 pmI went to see the latest Resident Evil film yesterday because I was in a bad mood and thought a bit of carnage would take me out of it. I was right: the film is by no means perfect, but it left me with a warm fuzzy glow. To make it simple, here's Resident Evil: Afterlife in bullet points.
Good Points
- It's in 3D.
- It has lots of cheesy 3D effects so you don't forget it's in 3D. I know for many this would be a bad point, but I'm still at the stage where I enjoy cheesy 3D effects like bullets flying out of the screen. I'll probably change my mind eventually.
- Lots of visual puns and references to other films (e.g. The Matrix).
- Zombies.
- Those zombie dogs from the first film. Gotta love'em.
- Milla Jovovitch kicking ass.
Not-so-good Points
- Like a Beethoven symphony, they just couldn't manage to let the film stop. I lost track of how many endings it has.
- Milla Jovovitch gets into a shower and doesn't take her clothes off.
- It could have had more zombie dogs.
