robinturner: Mount & Blade character (karahan)
Although Mount & Blade is still taking up most of my spare time, I've looked at a few other games and thought I'd share my thoughts.

Empire Earth II

A three-day download for sixty minutes of gameplay? No thank you. Actually, I gave up half way through the extremely tedious tutorial. Ain't gonna click on no more peasants. I'm sure someone will comment to say that Empire Earth is a great game once you've played it for a few months, but really - been there, done that.

Tycoon City - New York

This demo looks like it has potential. Although it's yet another SimCity clone, it has a nice atmosphere, and the tutorial is livened up by being narrated by a stereotypical New Yorker. I like the idea of keeping students happy by building coffee shops and Internet cafes. I'm a bit perplexed by the fact that people are wearing invisible clothes. Not that they look naked - you can see the background through whatever they are supposedly wearing. Anyone who managed to produce a fabric like that in the real world would make a fortune in defence contracts.

Guild Wars Factions

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] rodneyorpheus, I'm able to take part in this weekend event. Guild Wars has an interesting world, excellent graphics (even at the lowest quality, which I had to use), hot chicks in skimpy armour, unusual monsters, good player-to-player communication, and of course guilds. I also had the unique experience of witnessing NinjaBoyz formation dancing! Satan is telling me to buy this game.
