Money really can buy happiness
Monday, May 2nd, 2005 05:59 pmI've posted before about research showing that, contrary to folk wisdom, money really does result in happiness (though with the common-sense caveat that there is a law of diminishing returns - usually anything after the first $1m is wasted). Money certainly made me happy today - after going into the city to pay some car tax arrears, I stopped off at the post office, as I'd received a slip that said someone called in my office while I wasn't there. It turned out that a Japanese publisher whose Internet research I'd participated in had mailed me 140 Euros. Let's hear it for the Japanese!
