Web design woes

My web skills are getting rusty, I think. I've spent most of today transferring our unit website to the main department website, trying to get drop-down menus to play nice with my stylesheets, and trying to make tables and images align properly in both Mozilla and Konqueror (I also need to test in Internet Explorer, and in different screen resolutions, but that potential nightmare can wait for tomorrow). The result doesn't look too bad, but it's loading rather slowly. In particular, I need to find a way to make it load the javascript menu before trying to load the images.

Linux users have been feeling left out of the recent MyDoom phenomenon. The recent expansion of Linux from geeks' bedrooms to government departments has left system administrators receiving mails from users complaining that they clicked on the MyDoom email attachment but nothing happened.

However, a variant of MyDoom tailored to the Linux environment has recently been spotted. The text of the email reads as follows.

Your message was undeliverable. To avoid this problem in the future, please follow these steps.

1. Open emacs and type the following:

#!/bin/bash
wget http://www.sco.com
wget http://www.microsoft.com

2. Save the file and make it executable

3. Set a cron job to run it every minute

A spokesperson from Symantech said "This is a very dangerous worm. Many Linux users will run anything that looks like a bash script, just to see what happens."
