Cars are evil

Not only do I have to get up and teach a class for which I am woefully unprepared tomorrow morning, in the afternoon I have to go and pick up some meaningless document that lets me leave the country in my car. I have no desire to leave the country in my car (they have these things called "aeroplanes" these days) but I still have to pick up this form. Actually, if Marx's labour theory of value is true, it's a pretty valuable document, since I had to go to several different locations and pay a fair amount of money (read invested labour) to get it in the first place.

At some point I also need to fix the leak in the car that lets water accumulate in the back, and fix the windscreen wiper that some stupid person twisted because she didn't like the fact that my wife was parked infront of her apartment.

Tomorrow is my last contribution to carosity. After that, I will tell my wife that cars are like puppies - if you want one for Christmas, you take care of it yourself.

Don't you just hate tautologies like that?

I really don't want tomorrow to happen, but I can't see any tenable alternatives. It would be nice to wake up and find it was not tomorrow but some day in 1999, but I can't see that happening, somehow.

Sometimes I think the last ten years of my life have been a complete waste. But that's probably the influence of LJ.

Hayat acıdır. Biber acıdır. O zaman, hayat biberdir.
