From Life and I - Can Dündar
Last week I turned thirty-five.
The first half's finished - Life: 1 - Me: 0!
But it was bound to turn out like that.
The signs were clear ages ago:
My first suspicion was when kids on the street shouted, "Hey Uncle, throw us the ball" ...
Later, the white wires in my hair loomed large on the horizon.
I looked: my highschool photos had grown yellow; my friends had grown old.
Wives and friends talk about health and children in place of travel and romance.
Damn - translating poetry is so hard!
