Error messages

Every time I try to comment on someone's journal I get an error message about something dying unexpectedly, which at least means the LJ folk have a UNIX/Linux server - I love those 'nix error messages. I sometimes get "Child process died unexpectedly", which sounds quite tragic. I also like the honest way some Linux programs say things like "Oops!" when they screw up, and "Phew!" when they manage to rescue data.

OK, let's see if I can post this, or if I'll get an error message saying "Parent process has decided your writing is puerile."

Cyclic Universe

Now the cyclic universe theory is back in fashion, I'm wondering if that means that when the universe starts to contract, entropy will reverse, and consequently time will start running backwards. Hannibal Lecter thinks so, though he admits he's not in the same league as Hawking (who espoused the cyclical universe theory for a while, then admitted he was wrong, and is probably now thinking he might have been right all along - that's a real scientist for you).

The problem I have with the good doctor's theory is that he imagines his sister, who was eaten, becoming whole again. Now I can just about handle time running backwards, but why should it run backwards in the same way?
