A tiring weekend. Nalan is ill with a monster cold that makes the word "cold" a euphemism. I've corrected a load of student essay drafts, some of which are almost as bad as the originals I rejected for intolerably sloppy writing (Anna will understand this having done proof-reading - imagine doing this for someone who isn't a native speaker and dashed off their draft quickly because they had an economics mid-term the next day). Oh well, at least I've learnt how to make two Turkish soups - they were so easy, I was flabbergasted.

Turkish food crisis
Monday, April 1st, 2002 01:53 amOh no, I just had some more of the soup I made, and it's triggered a Turkish food crisis. I want rice and pine nuts wrapped in grape leaves! I want stuffed aubergine! I want to finish it off with baklava!
Probably only alexia will understand this, since all of these are the same as Greek food. Let's hear it for Aegean cuisine!
