After [livejournal.com profile] oblomova put me onto the line "Rilke was a jerk," I decided to present ...

The Rilke Limerick challenge

The first line is, of course, "Rainer Maria von Rilke." All I can think of that rhymes with Rilke is "milk her" - maybe a poem about apoet and a cow?

cheating, but hey.

Ranier Maria von Rilke
Drank a large tumbler of milk-a
He took a huge sip
Smacked poetic lips
And said, "this stuff is smoother than silk-a"

Rainer Maria von Rilke
Had hair that was both soft and silky
I know you might be quite upset
By my pronunciation of his sobriquet
But I am as Limey as milk is milky

I was pretty impressed too. I'm still looking for a last line:

Rainier Maria von Rilke,
Had a cow but he just couldn't milk her.
He got down on his knees
And begged for some cheese,
But the something something something.

I can't believe mine didn't get an applause. Mine was amazing.
