Kerry and Fonda

While I don't like the way Kerry has been touting his "war hero" image, I can't help but chuckle at the way the Right are making a big song and dance about the photo where he appears at a VVAW rally. I mean he was a Vietnam Veteran, and he was against the war - where else would you expect him to be? They make much of the fact that he was sitting behind Jane "Whore of Babylon" Fonda. It doesn't mean he endorsed her politics - he might have just been trying to get a good view of her butt.

This reopening of the Hanoi Jane case reminds me that I have a DVD of Barbarella I haven't watched yet. This, of course, was taken before she decided women shouldn't be sex objects and started wearing baggy fatigues, which was before she decided women could have sexy bodies through sweat and willpower and got into aerobics, which was before she decided sweat and willpower weren't enough and had plastic surgery, which was before ...
