Absolutely fabulous coupling

No, it's not what you think it is, just a conflation of two comedy series I've just been watching. Reruns are what the BBC do best, and they're showing the entire set of Absolutely Fabulous in three-episode blocks. Coupling has only just reached Turkey, and it's the funniest thing I've seen since Blackadder. I've just watched the episode with the funeral, Reservoir Dogs and the giggle loop.

"To know about the giggle loop is to become part of the giggle loop."

I must have laughed half of the tar out of my lungs.

"Poor" (where Eddie gets her alimony cut off) and the one which starts with Patsy starting a fire in the kitchen and ends with the story of everyone's birth.

Coupling is definitely worth watching - it's what Sex and the City ought to be. Like AbFab, it has you laughing and cringing with embarrassment at the same time.

I've never seen Sex and the City. I'll keep an eye out for Coupling!

That was on last week, but I only caught the last ten minutes - excellent! Like I said, you're torn between laughing and cringing. It reminds you of all the people you've known like that - the kind that make you sidle away, trying to broadcast body language saying "I'm not with her."

Exactly. *L* But that whole "honey, almondy-yogurty smell" ... :Þ Sometimes they're subtle right after being outrageously blunt and slapstick. :)
