I decided to give Yahoo another chance, and now have an IM account with them. Solri was taken, so I wound up with the user name selgusni (Lojbanists will get the connection!). Feel free to IM me, but not now, as I'm going to read a few more pages of the Dalai Lama then go to bed.

What are you reading by the Dalai Lama? I've been rereading The Joy of Living and Dying in Peace.

The Art of Happiness. A couple of my students recommended it to me when I was doing that "Happiness" course last semester, so when I saw it in a bookshop in England, I snapped it up. I really like it, especially because it's a dialogue between the Dalai Lama and a Western psychiatrist, so you get an interesting double perspective. I just bought a Turkish translation for Nalan, and she's lapping it up.

Could you explain a bit about dzogchen? I've come across references to it here and there, but my knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism is very limited and I find the plethora of terms confusing, especially since different people seem to use the same terms in different ways.
